This work is a depiction of my subject's constant strive towards external pressures, an urge to survive, keep going and facing the world with a smile.

Human emotions simple or complex, immensely affect us in so many ways that we cannot even imagine.

We live in a society where we are forced to compete even if we don't want to. We are faced with scenarios in our lifetime where we are not expected to exercise the basic reaction of fight or flight. This undue pressure morph us inside out. We have to be strong and keep going to survive. Enduring such pressures is perceived as a quality even if it bruise our ego, hurt our self esteem and damage us in many ways.

Using dark color palette, coarse stokes and texture, I am trying to capture my subject's damaged inner self, coping up with such scenarios.
